Most of Glory's 1860s Boston was Savannah. This memorial is the real part.
Most of Glory's 1860s Boston was filmed in Savannah, Georgia. The bronze on the Common's Beacon Street edge is the real thing. Augustus Saint-Gaudens spent nearly fourteen years on this memorial to Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Massachusetts, hired forty men to model the soldiers' faces, and the film rolls its closing credits over it. Stand close and follow the marching line.
