Under Boston · STOP 07 · Financial District
Seven floors of parked cars under this lawn pay for the flowers on top.
The lawn in the middle of Post Office Square is the roof of a seven-floor underground garage, and the parking pays for the flowers. Until 1988 a concrete garage stood on the square instead. Nineteen downtown firms put in over a million dollars to get rid of it. Sit on the lawn. You're on a roof.
This is stop 7 of Under Boston. Walk it - any two stops are free.
