Shot Here · STOP 03 · Beacon Hill

Fire historians say a TV private eye lived in this firehouse. MTV's Real World moved in too.

The Boston Fire Historical Society says this old Beacon Hill firehouse was the home of TV's Spenser in Spenser: For Hire, and MTV's The Real World moved in for its Boston season in 1997. Firefighters worked this corner from 1847. The building went up in the late 1940s, planned to fit bigger fire trucks, and it still stands at Mount Vernon and River Streets.

From 1868 to 1873 the company here had a name as well as a number: Warren No. 10. Then Boston dropped the names. The address was 60 River Street until Engine 10 moved in on April 14, 1949.
