Shot Here · STOP 04 · Beacon Hill
Cheers' bar was a set on Paramount Stage 25. Only the outside is Boston.
The Cheers bar was a set on Paramount Stage 25 in Hollywood. The door is on Beacon Street. In 1981 the show's set designer photographed a basement pub across from the Public Garden and asked to use the outside, and the owner, by one account, charged a dollar. The real room never looked much like the TV one. The steps you watched for eleven years are still there.
